Rediscovering the joy of Gift Giving

Sending a letter, presenting a gift to a client or friend does not get any more fun than this! I have joined the culture of today and perform almost all of my correspondence on my computer.  E-mail and facebook have all but eliminated by love of sending special gifts.  Well....I have recently rediscovered how much fun it is to see a smile on a clients or friends face when they see their gift wrapped with a little tender loving care.  I am now making an effort to put as much love into my packaging as I can.  I think our special efforts are noticed and appreciated!

Oh My! Lunch is fun!

I have rediscovered the joy of LUNCH!  My days of packing my meal in a brown bag or any shopping bag I can find for that matter is over.  I have discovered these fabulous containers of all colors and sizes.  I am learning to enjoy my meals on many levels.  I am making a conscious effort to eat healthy, sit down and appreicate my meal.
This bright colors just make my day.  I need to take a photo of my "lunch cabinet."  It's beginning to get a little out of hand....

So my friends...please remember to rediscover the joy of lunch!

Rediscover...Earth Week

As we complete Earth Week here in Sasebo, Japan, I am thinking about the impact each of has on this planet we call home.  I am always trying to teach my children to love and care for the planet by doing simple things....turn off the water when brushing their teeth, turn off lights when we are not using them, recycle anything we can, reuse whenever possible, use less.  If they grow up realizing that every little bit helps and that there is so much more we need to do...I will be proud.  I know this is one reason I love my new passion for shopping in Japan.  I find many of my treasures at little antique stores...sometimes they are more like barns...which they translate in English to "recycle shops."  I get to "Rediscover" a new way to enjoy and appreciate these treasures.  If you would like to see some of my favorite recycled pottery ...take a look at my store.
